"Earth Quack" is the twenty-ninth episode of DuckTales. It is based on the Uncle Scrooge comic story "Land Beneath the Ground!" by Carl Barks.
Synopsis[]
Scrooge and the boys discover that the games of an underground civilization called the Terra-Firmians are causing earthquakes directly under the Money Bin.
Trivia[]
- The Scenes are used on the show's opening theme.
Notes[]
Differences from the original comic[]
- Besides the obvious "Donald's not in this version."
- The original comic didn't open with Scrooge having a nightmare.
- In the original comic, the Terra-firmians were actually two different sub-species of creatures called Terries and Fermies, visually distinguished by their neckwear (the Terries wore bow ties, and the Fermies wore four-in-hand knots; oddly, the episode still keeps their different neckwear). Also, in the comic, only the Terries caused earthquakes by rolling against the giant pillars; the Fermies had an alternate method by lifting up pieces of the Earth's crust. It was also mentioned in the comic that the Terries and Fermies learned English by hearing radio broadcasts through magnetic rocks.
