Memorable quotes[]
Desiree: Gizmoduck, this is Agent Bell. Any luck finding Darkwing yet? Gizmoduck: Not yet... but I have been approached by salesmen from three local haberdasheries! Quite determined, to be drumming up business during a potato-pocalypse. You've got to admire their chutzpah! |
Darkwing: Bushr--Reggie, I know you're lonely. I...I know what it's like not to have anyone, believe me. And I know you created [Posey] to be your companion. But I think you know... she's not it. And she's never going to be. Bushroot: I made her. She's like me: She doesn't fit anywhere. And now you want me to destroy her. Hasn't she suffered enough? Darkwing: Yes. She had. |
Gizmoduck: Great working with you again, Wingey! Darkwing: You too. The brevity was my favorite part. |
Darkwing: I know we've had our differences... Odds are, we will again. But... I'm sorry it had to end that way. Bushroot: I'm not. I can feel [Posey] in every sprout, every leaf. She was hurting before, but now she's at peace. She's happy. And oddly enough, that makes me happy. Darkwing: That's true love. When something is so important to you, you'd sacrifice anything for it. Bushroot: It felt good to be the hero for a change. Now I know why you work so obnoxiously at it. Hey, maybe I've turned over a new leaf. Get it? Darkwing: Yes, you certainly have grown. Bushroot: Terrible. Just terrible. [beat panel] Bushroot: I'm still going back to jail, aren't I? Darkwing: Ooooh yeah. Big time. |
Notes[]
- This issue was originally planned to feature a remake of the Darkwing Duck storybook High Wave Robbery, but it was pushed aside due to issue #7's story becoming too big for a single issue. Bizarrely, the PreviewsWorld.com solicitation for this issue was never updated accordingly.
- This issue marks Neptunia's first and only canon appearance in the comic medium since the "Just Us Justice Ducks" comic adaptation from Disney's Colossal Comics Collection #5-6.
- This issue ends with "Villain Files" profiles for Wolfduck, Tuskerninni, and Morgana.
- Due to Disney cancelling Joe Books' Darkwing Duck comic and replacing its creative team for the Dynamite Entertainment title, this is the last canon installment of the original "Disney Afternoon universe" as of 2024.
