Aladdin & The King of Thieves

Aladdin and The King of Thieves is a direct-to-video film that serves as a the series finale to Aladdin, and the second direct-to-video sequel to the original animated movie that the series spun off from. It was released August 13, 1996.

Synopsis[]

In this movie Aladdin finds out that his father is still alive and that he is the King of Thieves. Aladdin and Jasmine's wedding was interrupted by The King of Thieves. Aladdin, Abu, and Iago find out that his father Cassim is the king of thieves and invites him to his wedding. Unfortunately Cassim and Iago attempt to steal The oracle. They get caught and thrown in the dungeon but Aladdin rescues them. Later He confesses to The Sultan. While this is happening Cassim's former henchmen Saluk turns his men against him and they capture him and Iago. Fortunately Iago manages to escape and tells Aladdin about what is happening to his father. Aladdin and his friends go off to rescue his father. They make it to the vanishing Isle. While Jasmine, Genie, Abu and Iago fend off Cassim's former henchmen. Aladdin and Cassim find The Hand of Midas. Saluk takes Aladdin hostage and Cassim realizes how important Aladdin is to him so he tosses The Hand of Midas to Saluk Turning him to gold in the process. Aladdin and his friends manage to escape the vanishing isle just before it sinks into the ocean. Aladdin and Jasmine eventually have their wedding and Cassim and Iago rides off to find a new hideout.

Notes[]

  • Early trailers for this movie showed Aladdin having a blood stain on his sleeve during the "Welcome to the Forty Thieves" sequence, obviously from the injury he suffered during his battle with Sa'luk. In the finished film, the blood stain was removed.
